Six pillar of self esteem – How You Can Take Action to Raise Your Self Esteem
Your self esteem is one of your core values and like all of your values, it is a source of motivation for your actions. However the actions that you take in response to your circumstances can have an impact on your self esteem. Consistently taking the right actions can help you to achieve higher self esteem.
Values are things that we hold to be important and that we want to see in our lives. Values are one of the sources of motivation for all our actions. One of the most important values that you hold is your self esteem.
Self esteem has a very powerful effect on your motivation. Your self esteem has a strong effect on your feelings, your emotions and your mental state in any situation. If you have high self esteem you will be confident that you are capable of taking the right actions, while if you have low self esteem you will be filled with self doubt and fear which will lead to procrastination and inaction.
Procrastination and inaction are the enemies of success, so your level of self esteem will have a strong effect on your ability to succeed.
Looking at this from a different angle, your actions are correlated to your mental state. Your self esteem is one of the values that determines your mental state in any given situation. Modern psychology and NLP in particular tells that your life is like a mirror – your mental state and your external actions are reflections of each other. If you change one, you will inevitably change the other.
The good news is that you can change your mental state by taking the right actions. As you do this you will start to develop thought processes that are consistent with higher self esteem and you will find that your self esteem is improved.
